Honey Facts & Benefits

Our Organic Greek Raw Honey comes from a wide variety of forest trees such as wild oaks, pike trees, and fir trees. Bees also collect it from rare herbs and wild flora found in the forest.

Organic Greek Raw Honey is honeydew honey since it is produced by bees that collect nectar from honeydew excreted by plant-sucking insects called Marchalina hellenica.

The honey is cold-extracted, unfiltered, unpasteurized, and unprocessed. Sustainably extracted by centrifugal force method and with absolutely zero heating process – which is why it sustains all its beneficial nutritional elements.

Greek Honeydew Honey is superior to flower honey due to its high mineral and amino acid content and antimicrobial activity and has a sweeter fragrance compared to the usual flower honey.

Honeydews are high in oligosaccharides, which are known for their prebiotic qualities, aiding digestion and promoting gut health.

Greek Honeydew Honey is a rare honey with a thick texture, which offers all the necessary elements to strengthen the body. Greek Honeydew Honey crystallises slowly, due to its low glucose content, and this pure honey can remain liquid for a long time, more than a year and a half.

Organic Raw Greek Forest Honey has a strong depth of flavour, robust taste much like Oak Honey with hints of woodsy and pine flavours, and a slightly caramel aftertaste, but what makes it special is the complex flavour from the herbs that grow on Mount Belles in Serres – a combination of flowers and trees, such as chestnuts, oaks, flowers, and wild herbs. Organic Raw Greek Fir Honey has a high density, which makes it very viscous. The low concentration of sugars contributes to its mild sweetness while its aroma travels to the fir-covered mountain peaks of the areas where it is produced. The color of Fir Honey varies depending on the region of origin and is from dark or light red to black. Read more about Organic Raw Greek Fir Honey

Organic Greek Vanilla Fir Honey is smooth and soft. It is a renowned product for its taste and low sugar concentration. A true, deep, rich treasure of vanilla caramel flavor. It stimulates the tongue with a sweet, buttery taste, and leaves you with a warm, woodsy aftertaste. It gets its name also because of its vanilla-like color, but it does not contain vanilla in any way. Vanilla Fir Honey is light in color, a shade between pearl and vanilla. Organic Greek Oak Honey is very dark, almost black with a rich caramel taste of low sweetness and malty notes. Its aroma is rich and transports the consumer to the semi-mountainous forests. As honeydew honey it sugars very slowly, remaining viscous for quite a long time and it tends not to crystallize easily. Read more about Organic Raw Greek Oak Honey

Organic Raw Greek Pine Honey is not very sweet, due to its low glucose content, while its aroma is spicy and unusual, reminiscent of iodine. Read more about Organic Raw Greek Pine Honey

Common Uses

Organic Raw Greek Honey is one of those honey that makes a perfect and much healthier alternative to table sugar and is great for everyday use. It's particularly nice when taken with black tea or coffee. Greek honey is great when it's spread across toast, pancakes, hot scones, cereal, porridge, or added to pep-up fruity dessert dishes or yogurt.

Notes & Tips:

  • Storage: honey should be stored away from direct sunlight in a dry place at room temperature or below. Always ensure the lid is secured tightly.
  • Crystallization: raw honey crystallizes over time, and it is a natural process. Honey thickens and changes its state - it hardens and becomes grainy. Different types of honey crystallize differently. Some types of honey become very grainy and form larger crystals. Changes in color and structure (crystallization) are signs of raw, unpasteurized, and unprocessed honey.
  • Consistency: if you prefer softer, more liquid honey, you can gently warm it by putting the jar in hot water. Warming will liquefy the crystallized honey. Avoid exposing honey to temperatures over 45°C, because higher temperatures may destroy part of the natural nutrients. Please make sure the jar is closed correctly to ensure no water contaminates the honey.
  • Colour changes: please know that raw honey can vary in colour and taste from batch to batch - honey changes with the season and climate and depending on what the bees feed on.
  • Packaging: our honey is available in recyclable glass jars and plastic containers of various sizes. The plastic containers are made of BPA-free high-quality shatterproof plastic.
  • Safety Information: honey is inappropriate for children under the age of one year.
  • Product photos and videos are representative. Honey colour and texture may vary depending on the season and level of crystallization.
