What Does it Taste Like?

Bee pollen has a unique flavour and likely tastes like nothing you've ever eaten before. The taste is mild, sweet, and flowery, with slightly bitter and earthy notes. Bee pollen is not as sweet as honey. The texture is smooth and granular, and it melts in your mouth.

Some people develop a taste for bee pollen after a while, and they begin to appreciate its pleasant natural sweetness more and more. So if you don’t enjoy the taste right away, give it some time. You can also try it mixed with honey (try our Honey with Bee Pollen) or consume it with other foods - add it to smoothies, cereals, salads, or any of your favorite foods.

What is Bee Pollen?

Bee pollen is a mixture of flower pollen, nectar, enzymes, honey, wax, and bee secretions. The coloured granules of bee pollen are usually the size of sesame seeds or flaxseeds.

Flower pollen are tiny, dust-sized granules found in flower blossoms. Honey bees travel from flower to flower and collect nectar to make honey, and the pollen collects into little clumps on their legs. Bees bring it to the hive, store it and use it as food for the colony. Beekeepers collect the pollen from the bees by placing a mesh collection device at the hive entrance. This device gathers pollen in small quantities and leaves sufficient pollen for the needs of the hive.

Nutritional Value

Bee pollen is one of nature’s best superfoods, containing nearly all nutrients that the human body needs. It is full of proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, and enzymes. In addition, natural bee pollen contains essential vitamins - A, B2, B6, C, D & E and it’s also a great source of minerals like calcium, magnesium, zinc, selenium, and iron. The exact nutrient composition depends on the plant source, the season collected, and other factors.

How to Store?

Store bee pollen in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Always ensure the lid is secured tightly. If you want to store bee pollen for a longer period of time, put it in a refrigerator or freezer.

How to Consume It?

Bee pollen is a great addition to any diet, providing key nutrients that your body needs. Eat it as it comes – plain or mixed into honey or other foods. Our soft bee pollen has a pleasantly sweet floral taste which makes it a perfect topping for smoothies, shakes, yogurt, cereal, toast, or breakfast snacks. You can add it to any beverage, such as tea or coffee, for a tasty boost of energy. Pollen will add a chewy, delicious taste when sprinkled on your salad, popcorn, or desserts like ice cream, chocolate, and other sweet treats.

How Much Should You Consume?

We recommend taking 1-2 tsp of pollen daily (for the best results – 30 minutes before a meal on an empty stomach). For those who aren't familiar with pollen, it's a good idea to start with a small amount. You can start with 1/4 teaspoon and increase gradually to 2 tablespoons a day.

Please Note:

Bee pollen is generally safe and healthy to use. However, some people may occasionally experience minor gastrointestinal irritation and a laxative effect due to the richness of the product. People who are allergic to honey may also be allergic to bee pollen. In some cases, pregnant or lactating women and individuals with high blood pressure may also have allergic reactions to bee pollen.

Bee Pollen purity:

Bee Pollen granules are a natural product that is produced when bees transport pollen between plants and it attaches to their legs, then they bring these pellets to the hive for food. Bees are in constant contact with the insect world and nature in general, and something from the insect world naturally gets there. We dedicate great attention so that pollen is carefully seaved and everything surplus is selected out before filling it in jars, however, there is still a chance that something can be undistinguished.
